TBS Nation,

Good morning TBS and welcome to the final day of October.  Hard to believe that we are now done with this transition month and on to the upcoming holidays.  I don’t know about any of you but I am simply exhausted.  Every day the alarm goes off it seems like there is no way that it is possible that sleep was even experienced.  I am more and more thankful for he strength provided by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who gives us the energy we need so that we can move forward.
Regardless of how we / I feel the day must go on.  It is Hot lunch day at TBS and there is a great menu for us all.  Beef Stroganoff Green Bean Casserole w/ Blondie Bars.  The Schuller family will be helping provide this meal for the day and we appreciate their effort in the kitchen on our behalf.
Home is important isn’t it?  It is where we get to cozy in for the night, have our meals together, enjoy laughs and conversation, share hurts and frustrations and much more.  The home is a place that should foster another generation who loves Jesus and talks about and to Him.  There are so many children today that have a physical house but no home.  In other words the infrastructure of the home is solid (rooms, garage, bathroom, pool, etc….) but the relationships that coincide are missing or damaged.  If there is a generation that does not know what it means to get tucked in at night then the generation grows without the need of a heavenly father.  I have been on many mission trips where the houses are ridiculously under built, extremely lacking in privacy, and in my standards a shack.  It is interesting that the one thing that they rarely give up is their “home”.  They will do anything for their family and help in any way.  They will sleep on the dirt floor without complaint and play with only one toy (made by the hand of the father or grandfather) as if it were delivered new from amazon each morning. Perspective sometimes hurts and today I am rebuked in my own heart because of Ps. 68 4-6a:
“Sing to God, sing praises to his name; lift up a song to him who rides through the deserts; his name is the LORD; exult before him! Father of the fatherless and protector of widow is God in his holy habitation.  God settles the solitary in a home……”
Hope this encouraged you to think and consider who you are and what you are doing in your home!
