TBS Nation,

I want to praise the Lord for an answer to prayer.  Zeke’s surgery went well yesterday with no complications at all.  I am thankful for this praise.  I am also praising the Lord that this is the last day for basketball.  The season has been long and it is very good to know that our kids will be getting more time to their day to accomplish the tasks they need to accomplish.  We will be playing against Washington County Homeschool tonight (Away).  I trust that you will keep us in prayer as we finish the last game of the season.

I need to also share something very personal.  Some know that my dad has been tested for some possible cancer development over the past few days.  It is now confirmed and he does have several types of cancer.  It is very serious and aggressive.  The cancer team is working with he and my mom with options of treatments at this time.  He will be in Chemo and Radiation treatments very soon.  This is extremely unexpected and we are a bit in shock as a family.  My dad is my best friend and he has passed on to me a passion for Christian Education.  He is currently working at Dayton Christian School in OH and will continue to work there until he is unable.  His drive and determination are my motivators today.  Pray with me for him as well as Kim Struska and others who have this disease.  We want God’s will to be done but we know that there are no promises made for life on earth.  Perhaps these are the lessons we are to learn from Kim and dad today.

The verse that is going through my mind is II Timothy 2:1-3

“You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.  Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.”

We who are faithful men must pass this “deposit” to other generations because at some point the generation that precedes us will be taken from us and it will be our full responsibility.
