TBS Nation,

Good morning to you TBS, I trust that you all had a good night (especially since the Packers beat the Bears).  I know we have some Bears fans among us and I have to say that, considering the circumstances of the quarterback, the Bears played well.  I was reminded yesterday that ADVERSITY is NECESSARY for GROWTH.  I don’t like this because it means challenge and work.  It means doing things and being in places I don’t want to be.  It means carrying loads and burdens that are not mine.  Becoming like Jesus is difficult and I’m sure my flesh does not want anything to do with it!

A friend sent me a quote from a NFL coach yesterday that I thought I would share.  The head coach of the Minnesota Vikings told reporters, “I don’t care about being consistent, I care about getting it right” (Mike Zimmer).  I wonder if we are good at being consistent in our lives (even in the wrong things-at times) and not focused on getting it right.  Consistency is a great thing if one is doing right!  What a thought for us today.  Why do we do this thing called a Christian School?  Why do we do church every Sunday and Wednesday?  Why do we minister to those hurting? Why do we fight this worldly battle?  We do this because it is right and good.  We do these things because it demonstrates Godly character and virtue. Let’s do RIGHT today and not focus on consistency!

Today is the last day of the 1st Qtr at TBS.  We are looking forward to the next quarter and the opportunities that it will afford us.  The holidays will be wrapped up in the 2nd Qtr. and this always makes it go by so fast.  Enjoy it and we will see you on the other side.
