Happy-BirthdayTBS Nation,

Good Morning TBS and welcome to new Wisconsin Records as we have now officially crossed into the coldest winter on record!  I guess now that we have made that effort we should keep it up for a while so that we can all tell our grandchildren about the walking to school and snow drifts and blizzards all in below zero temperatures…..  We have just established a legacy!   Ok maybe not, on the bright side of my day it is my Wife’s Birthday!  Happy Birthday Amber Shaeffer.  I have been waiting for this morning to brag on her since she has absolutely no control over the Daily Memo’s!

Amber is very special to me and to TBS.  I don’t know how many realize this but really she is the backbone behind what I do here.  There are many days that Amber does things for me and for TBS that are never seen or heard about and she deserves a very special thank you.  She is my motivator on many days and finds encouraging words for me and the staff as well as all of you.  She is a prayer warrior for you all and I am always challenged by her energy.  Even though she may not be around the school always, she receives the phone calls from me asking for things that simply did not get done and she completes the task usually by saying, “You know I love you right now!”  I love you Amber and you are a blessing to our family and our school.  May God continue to bless you ministry as you grow in him and continue to support our school!

WACS entries for the Jr & Sr High are to be turned in today to the Oberreich Library today.  These items will be on display for parents Monday – Thursday of next week in preparation for WACS.
Souped-Up group lunch tickets are due today!  Call the school office or email the numbers and locations so we don’t miss anybody that day!  Thanks for the work with this fundraiser – we will get you the results as soon as they are in and let you know how much we were able to support TBS!

discipline-of-prayer-theTBS Nation,

As I was watching the 9pm news last night I realized again how far America is away from God.  From gay marriage legislation to murder, sexual abuse to medical issues….it all seems so bleak.  The good news is this is the shortest part of our existence!  Life is but a vapor and we, those who truly believe in Christ, will be with Him in Glory not ever having to worry about sin again.  I will have to focus my thinking on that today instead of the wretchedness of the world around me.  I praise God that He is in control, but I pray that I would not become a statistic / prisoner of Satan today!

We are breaking weather records as we speak this morning.  This is the official Coldest Winter on record in WI.  We have matched 48 days with below zero temperatures.  Tomorrow night will be another cold one and perhaps rival the coldest of the winter at a predicted -17 degrees actual.  TBS may have to turn the heat on a bit earlier to keep things warm and cosy inside!  Listed below are a few reminders and some Elementary WACS announcements:

icy-weather-vaneTBS Nation,

Currently -7 degrees out and the school is cool this morning.  Dress warm for the next week as we will be in the Spring Polar Vortex!  Because of the windchill we will be having most of our recess time inside as well.  It seems like the kids are just busting at the seams to get out however the cold temperatures are forcing us to do this.  It is Hot Lunch & Chapel day TBS.  This is always a good combination!

Have a great Wednesday:

6:30am – Before School Care (Jeremy Shaeffer)
8:15am – Normal School Day
9:05am – Elementary Chapel (Dan Leeds)
9:05am – Jr./Sr. High Chapel (Jeremy Shaeffer)
Hot Lunch – Chicken Pot Pie

TBS Nation,

TBS had a great time down in Watertown yesterday as we watched the Classical Kids Concert.  The conductor did a great job teaching about how composers imitated “birds” in their music.  It was profitable and I appreciate those of you who drove.  It was an educational enhancement for sure.  Today, there will be several who will be taking WACS Tests.  Some sign up for these and they will be given to them during Mr. Shaeffer’s classes.  Keep in mind that these do not count for anything other than to measure against other WACS schools.  It also provides students with academic talents a chance to achieve against other schools in our area.

The Cold is back for a while.  It is amazing how quickly the building warmed up, however history tells us that it won’t stay that way.  Gloves and coat are still necessary items for each student.  Also just a side note….the snow piles are pure ice at this point.  They may not be so fun to play on!

Here is your look at Friday:

6:30am – Before School Care (Jeremy Shaeffer)
8:15am – Normal School Day (WACS TESTING DAY for Jr/Sr High)
Pizza Friday – Order early!
3:15pm – After School Care (Jeremy Shaeffer)

PIZZA RANCH FUNDRAISER:  TBC Mission Trip to Nicaragua
*Monday – Pizza Ranch Fundraiser for Trinity Baptist Church / Mission Trip Fundraiser
If you come to support us you need a coupon to give to the staff as you buy your meal.  You may present a digital copy or you may print a physical copy to bring as well.  20% of all profit goes to our team so help us all raise money for our efforts in Nicaragua!

Souped -Up:  March 6th, 2014
Not many more days before our Souped-Up Event at TBC.  Remember we are looking to sell around 400 tickets this year.  I am hoping that you all have been selling your group of tickets given to you almost two weeks ago now!  Please contact the school office if you need more.  We will get those to you as soon as possible.

Have a great weekend!

TBS Nation,

A Wintery Mix out there this morning.  Roads seem good in town so no need for a delay of any kind.  TBS will be traveling (Lord Willing) to MBU this afternoon to hear the Orchestra Concert put on by the University in Watertown.  If TBS is able to travel safely we will leave around 11:30 and return around 3:30 at the earliest.  I will post to facebook if that time changes.  I will also send an email notification if there are to be any changes to the schedule.
As a reminder, please pray for our students as we gear up for WACS.  This fine arts competition is extremely important for their education even though it is on one day.  Competition against other schools our size and quality can really help them refine God given talents for the future.  Also, don’t forget about the Souped -Up Fundraiser.  It is coming up quicker than you think!  Tickets are still available in the TBS Office for you to purchase.

Amidst all the zoom zoom of our lives let me encourage each of you today, especially parents that I prayed specifically for you today that God would be good to you and that He would keep you in whatever situation you are in.  Often times TBS asks you all for prayer but know this ….. YOU ARE PRAYED FOR AS WELL!    God has taught me so much through you all and I am still a student!  Many have shown me good ways to raise families and this is invaluable to me and my family.  I pray as Psalm 119:9-16 that we would bury ourselves in Gods word that we may know Him and keep our ways pure.  Darkness and Sin seem to keep cramming things down our families throats and I just want to be one of many praying that God keeps us close to Him by his word.

Hope you all have a safe and profitable day!  Here is the look at Thursday:

TBS Nation,

Wow…..another day above freezing and sunny?  Spring is on its way, we just have to remember it is not next week!  Until then we can enjoy the warmer temperatures and sunshine.  WACS is coming up in the beginning of March.  Remember that for the Jr/Sr High we will be collecting all of the WACS entries on February 28th.  Also just as a reminder, TBS will be traveling to MBU to see the MBU Symphony.  TBS will take all students except those in K3-4.  Also we will be leaving at 12:00pm and we will return around 3:30.  It is a little later than normal due to the travel.  If there seems to be bad roads due to the storm we will not attend and have a normal day of school.

TBS Nation,

With fresh snow on the ground and clouds in the air the temperature outside this morning is not bad. I meant to say congratulations to Tyler and Ryan the other day as I found out that they won the their last game 28-8.  That concludes their season and the boys varsity season is also almost complete.  Our final game will be this coming Monday at Lighthouse @ 5:00pm Vs. Wyldewood.  Today TBS Jr. & Sr. High students will participate in a Master’s Class which simply means that they all will perform their WACS musical selections in front of their teachers and peers.  Remind your students about this and encourage them to continue to practice for the event coming up the first week in March.

I made an error yesterday in my memo concerning the date of the Souped Up Fundraiser.  It is March 6th not May 6th.  I trust that you will forgive the typo and as always extend grace to me.

Here is your Thursday:

6:30am – Before School Care (Jeremy Shaeffer)
8:15am – Normal School Day
2:05pm – Master’s Class / Choir  *No Play Practice Today
3:15pm – After School Care (Kimberly Krause)
3:15pm – BBall Practice (Lighthouse)

**After Monday’s Basketball Game the team will be going to Buffalo Wild Wings for a post season get-together.  If you are able to come you are invited.

TBS Nation,

Good Morning TBS and welcome to our Wednesday.  Only today and tomorrow for school this week as we enter a Mid-Winter Break.  TBS students will be off from this Friday – Tuesday of next week.  All of the TBC Ministry/Pastoral Staff will be attending a conference this year in Green Lake.  You can pray that our Leadership Team gets refreshed and energized for the upcoming busy Spring.  I trust that all of you will enjoy at least a 20 degree difference in temperature this morning.  School is not quite as cold as it was yesterday.  We may have a bit of snow so be careful as streets may be slick coming in to school today.

For those of you who listen to KFIZ in the morning, I will be on live at 7:20am today talking with Wade Bates about our school and our Souped Up Event coming up on May 6th.  Remember we only have a few short weeks to try to sell all of those tickets!  We are looking to sell 400 dinners this year and have an income of around $1500.00!

Reminder:  WACS Music Entries / Thursday @ 2:05pm- There will be a Master’s Class for all of those doing Vocal Music Entries on Thursday during Choir Hours.  Mrs. Braker and Martin want to make sure students are aware of this and that they prepare for the event.  Students should be practicing and memorizing pieces for this tomorrow.  Those who need to work on their individual pieces should find free time or stay after school to polish the entry!

TBS Nation,

Again a bit of a cold morning which means a cold school.  Dress warmer today as it is taking a long time for things to get up to temperature today.  Hopefully we won’t have to many more of these days below zero!
Just a few reminders – Don’t forget about our souped up fundraiser coming up this March.  Many are selling tickets and it seems to be going well.  You all can hear me on the KFIZ at 7:20 am Wednesday Morning supporting our school by promoting this event with Wade Bates and the morning show!  Also, boys basketball is only one week away from being complete.  There are two more opportunities to see Alex play.  Tuesday we travel to Milwaukee and take on Calvary Baptist School and then a week from today we play against Wyldewood at home.  My final reminder today concerns WACS.  Don’t forget about the WACS Fine Arts Competition coming up.  It tends to sneak up on everybody.  Students should be preparing songs, working on art or photography as well as studying for tests.
