Another extremely cold day out today but I do see the sun peaking up a bit earlier these days. It makes the cold temperatures seem not so bad even though they are! Anyway it is a Tuesday and we have a normal day scheduled. There will be hot lunch available again today and it is chicken pot pie with salad! Sounds good on this winter day right?
I was doing some reading yesterday for a sermon preparation and read the words from Ephesians 5, “Wives submit to your own husbands….Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her….” I wish that this was an easy thing to do. Further more I wish that all mankind would do this well. I can’t imagine what our world would be like if there was harmony in each home in the sight of God. Peace, joy, stability, harmony with others and many other traits would be forced to the surface. Instead we have gossip, lying, hate, disrespect, anger and a host of other ungodly traits found just below the surface of our relationships. Frustrating for sure. Christ gives us the key to unlock this impossible task. Consider what He did for the church (you and me). Love like that, give grace and mercy like He did, reach out to those in need and do it with pure motive and so on. Christ’s love for the church sets the bar and it is impossible but that does not mean we should not attempt to reach it. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus…
Hope that encourages you today!
