TBS Nation,

Yea for Friday….Anybody else thinking this way?  It has been a very busy week.  Monday Volleyball games, Tuesday Parent night out, Wednesday Volleyball & Awana, Thursday Kiwanis Pork Fest Fundraiser, tonight a Paul David Tripp Parenting Conference, tomorrow a parenting conference, Sunday will be a full day of worship and then Monday hits with the crazy all over again.  I will be glad when the holidays it so that there will be some actual scheduled down-time – Oh Holidays are crazy too!
Ok – I digress.  Tonight is our Parenting Conference and for those coming there are some really special touches that Amber and I are attempting for you.  We are looking forward to the evening of being challenged.  This is a Live simulcast and we hope to begin shortly after 6pm.  There will be note taking material provided for you as well as a wonderful spread of coffee and desserts!
I am really looking forward to giving parents tools for their families use.  We can talk all we want about growing as a family but the only way we can do that is by being challenged to step up to better parenting disciplines.  We need to be more spiritual in our homes.  Husbands and wives need to be one as Ephesians says so that Satan cannot get footholds into our homes and children.  If you were at all considering coming to the event, I would encourage you to make the effort.  It is Free and there will be much to benefit from tonight and tomorrow!
Thanks to the Pork Fest Volunteers:  Sarah Leeds, Lin Leeds, Amy Braker, Andra Muranyi, Annika Shaeffer, Mackenzie Rabe, Silas Westra, Levi Shaeffer, Micah Struska, Hannah Struska, Randy Martin, Jan Martin, Dan Leeds.  You all helped TBS raise more funds to keep moving our goal toward completion!

TBS Nation,

Good morning TBS and welcome to Thursday.  It is Pork Fest today and I do believe that we have a good crew ready to volunteer for the Morning Kiwanis group.  TBS has served at this event now for about 6 years and we have made a great impact on community as we put our TBS gear and serve the people of FDL.  Thank you to all who are going to help today – TBS will bring in around $600 for the efforts this evening – Praise the Lord for this Fundraiser income!
See you at the pole was a success in my opinion.  There was even a neighbor watching from across the street who stood on his porch as we sang the National Anthem!  My hear was full as I started my day because of the way our students prayed an sang.  Levi Shaeffer, Weston Shaeffer, Micah Thorpe, Ryan Thorpe, Dan Leeds, and I lifted up our country and prayed for leadership as well as our school.

TBS Nation,

Good morning TBS Nation and welcome to Wednesday!  It is See You At the Pole Day!  There will be a group of students that will gather at the flag pole at 8:00am and pray for our country.  We would welcome any parents to join us on the south side of the building at Follette St.  Right in from of the church there is a flag pole with our American Flag and I do believe that it is necessary for our school to show respect and reverence for the flag and what it represents to us as American Christians!
TBS had a good turn-our for parents night out.  Annika Shaeffer organized this event and there were 12 kids in the building at one point.  TBS SLT provided 6 staff members for the evening and kept kids busy and safe.  Thank you to those that used the time – we trust that it was a blessing and benefit to your family!

TBS Nation,

Just like that September is just about gone….The months are flying by and so is our daylight each day. This week is a loaded week and there is much to be a part of if you choose.  As a leader of the school it is my privilege to put some really special things in front of you for you all to take advantage.
Tuesday, September 26th, 2017 – Parents Night Out
This is a Student Leadership Team event that allows parents to have a time to go on a date or do grocery shopping or simply support our leaders.  Tuesday evening the team will be letting you all drop off the kids at 5pm-8pm so you can spend three hours getting some things done.  The cost is $5 per child and there will be pizza and drinks provided for all who are in attendance.  Take advantage of the cheap childcare and enjoy a Tuesday evening!
Friday, September 29th – 30th – Paul Tripp Parenting Conference
Friday TBS will be live streaming the Paul Tripp Parenting Conference for those interested.  There is no cost tot this event and I am really excited that we have a good number signed up for the Friday evening and Saturday morning.  Since this is a free resource we would encourage you to invite friends or even try to invite potential families that would fit well with our school.  Email jshaeffer@trinityfdl.net to RSVP.  We will provide some Coffee and cookies for the event!
I am sensing some real motivation with our school.  I am praying that God would have his hand on us as we move toward the step of Accreditation.  I have been working hard to make sure that our Application and Pre-Accredidation will go smoothly.  I have meetings with School Choice Wisconsin CEO this week and will be meeting with the chairman of the WACS Accreditation Board in early October.  Please be in prayer for me as I lead our school in this way.  Many have helped and I am very indebted and thankful for the many hands that have made light work!  More details to come!
My prayer for all of you would be that you have a successful week.  I hope that the families of our school take a step toward strength today and a step toward unity!  This can happen with the Lord’s help! Have a great week!

TBS Nation,
It is Hot & Muggy in the building today.  I am already uncomfortable as I type the morning email.  Dress those kids in shorts and bring lots of water for the day. I have even chosen to take shorts as a dress code for the day due to the uncomfortable weather.
Remember to be working on selling Calendars and Candles.  Those Fundraisers will not go on for to much longer.  I am encouraged by how much has been brought in already!  Great Job everybody….
Read your patriot post this week.  There is a feature article by Stephanie Hanes that is written from a mother’s perspective.  Thanks for the encouragement Stephanie – you are a blessing to TBS!

TBS Nation,

Good morning everybody and welcome to a wet and muggy start to the day.  It will be warm in the building so dress the kiddos appropriately!  I wish I could turn on the air conditioners however our building is vintage enough that we don’t have them in our wing!  We will keep the windows closed and doors shut today to keep the cool of the building inside and leave the heat and muggy outside!  Water is a must for kids the next two days as they will need to keep it by their desks.  We want them to stay hydrated throughout the day.
The Student Leadership Team is inviting parents to a “Parents’ Night Out” on September 26th.  This will be a 5$ donation per child and runs from 5pm – 8pm.  If you would like a break in order to go on a date or just support our SLT here is your chance.  Take to Annika Shaeffer or Andras Muranyi for more details.  All child care will be at TBS for the evening.  Pizza will be served at a 1$ per slice that evening!
Reminders:
2018 Calendars / Yankee Candles Sales – Keep Up the great work.  We have a goal of reaching $3,000 in sales for these fundraisers!

TBS Nation,

Don’t Forget about our Food Drive!

Welcome to Wednesday / Chapel Day!  This morning TBS has all students attending chapel to be challenged by God’s word.  The elementary will be watching a Nature’s Corner video as we seek to push a creationist world view and the Jr/Sr high will be listening to Ryan Thorpe as he brings a challenge to the students.
The Student Leadership Team passed out a flyer to parents yesterday afternoon concerning a Parent’s Night Out!  This is a good opportunity to support the Leadership Team and also take advantage of a few hours without kiddos!  Talk to Annika Shaeffer or Andras Muranyi for more details!

TBS Nation,

Good morning TBS nation.  I hope you slept well and are ready for a Tuesday!  We have been without Dan and Lin Leeds as they are attending a Pastor’s conference about 4 hours away.  Pray for their safe return today as they drive back to FDL!  I am looking forward to having them back in their respective classrooms.
I read a great quote again this week from C. S. Lewis:

C.S. Lewis –

“Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung, possibly be broken.  If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal.  Wrap it carefully around with hobbies and little luxuries, avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness.  But in that casket — safe, dark, motionless, airless—it will change.  It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.  The alternative to tragedy, or at least to the risk of tragedy, is damnation.  The only place outside heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love is hell.”

I am so thankful that God has given me a family and wife and children and school and ministry to love.  Yes, this does mean that my heart is greatly exercised but unimaginable blessings come from these experiences.  I am so thankful for the ability to serve Him!  I know that you all feel and act the same way.  May we have unity in our school so much so that we make an impact on the world around us here in FDL!

TBS Nation,

Good morning TBS and welcome to week 5 in our quarter.  The days are getting shorter and the leaves are starting to change and fall but it has yet to feel like the fall weather we have all anticipated in the middle of September!  I am very thankful for the “summer” temperatures because it gives students that much more time to play outside and teachers the ability to keep their windows open for that fresh air!
This week is busy.  More details to come this afternoon but stay tuned for all of our upcoming events.  Soccer and Volleyball games this week, our Salvation Army Food drive is still going on not to mention the parenting conference in two weeks.

TBS Families,
TBS hosted her first Parent Bridge meeting last evening and what was designed to take an hour of time turned into almost 2.5 of great communication.  Thank you to Claudia Moies, Kathy Rabe, Eric and Tiffany Spoor, Ryan and Jodi Thorpe, and Amber Shaeffer for the great input last evening.  There will definitely be much coming from this group and the positive direction of taking this step was met with overwhelming approval from you the parents!  It is not to late to join the group and we have already put a date on the calendar of October 9th, 2017 at 6:30pm.  More to come……..  I don’t want to forget to thank Annika Shaeffer and Hannah Struska for their help watching the kids last night!  What a blessing it was to meet without distractions!
It is Friday and my head and heart are full.  I’m sure you have all had one of those nights where you lay down but don’t sleep because of the pace of your brain does not match the position of your eyes.  Glad we made it to Friday!  Hope yours weekend of rest and worship brings encouragement to your souls.
