TBS Nation,

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow…or is it  Let it stop, Let it stop, Let it stop?  March seems to be what February should have been I guess.  Here I thought that we might get an early spring….I guess it can still happen!  Hope you all had a great day of worship yesterday as you were in the Lord’s house.  I hope scripture and song and fellowship was sweet to the ear and heart.  My heart was encouraged yesterday and I am very thankful for the body of believers that surrounds me and my family.

It is the first day of the 4th quarter and we are setting our sights on the ending of the school year.  I trust that this will be a very productive quarter and one that is unifying.  There are many people that put there hands in to make this ministry go and it is a blessing for sure to see the joy that comes with each person.  We are not on this earth to please ourselves but rather we are hear to serve others.  I want this to be the vision and the energy that is in and around our school always!

Here is you look at Monday:

TBS Nation,

Congratulations on finishing the 3rd quarter in our 2016-17 school year.  I can hardly believe that we are talking about the final 9 weeks of school but here we are.  I want to just give a word of testimony and celebration concerning our High School today.  TBS staff has worked hard to grow and challenge our students in their classes particularly focusing with students achievement above “C” level work.  Yesterday our entire High School tested well in Geography and met the level of expectation for the first time all year as a class.  They were praised and congratulated because of their efforts and my heart, as a teacher/principal,  was full.  It is not an easy job when you consider the following:
– TBS Teachers have 50 minutes to pack in lessons each hour
– Students are required to stay engaged in rigorous thinking for this amount of time for 7         different classes
– Teachers work hard to keep students on task and motivated even when it is not what the student desires

Can you keep a 11-18 year old working and on task with something they don’t necessarily want to do for 6.5 hours in a row and keep your sanity?  #teacherstrong

All this said, TBS high school had a win on Thursday and we are making a big deal of it because it is a BIG DEAL!  Failure demonstrates the need for growth and hard work.  Success is measured when we close the gap of failure and continue to work to keep from repeating our mistakes.  Good Job High School and Cultural Geography!

Monday, March 13th
Tuesday, March 14th
Wednesday, March 15th

This would be a blessing and a way to show our continued support of their family.  Please email jshaeffer@trinityfdl.net and put the day you can help in the subject line.

TBS Nation,

“So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.  Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.  Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.  Have this mind in you which is ours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.  Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Philippians 2:1-11

Recently I have been reading this passage as a reminder of how I am supposed to act and conduct myself towards others.  These verses are so clear that we have no excuse but to serve and help others.  Humility and Obedience are two hard realities in this life.  I am convinced that the battle gets harder each day in both of these realms.  Humility means I empty myself and obedience means I submit myself.  May God help us all to do theses things well with and toward each other each day.

TBS Nation,

It is Chapel Day and Darryl Mayes and Ed Skowron will be sharing during the morning hour.  I am looking forward to the challenges that will be given from each of these men tomorrow.  The Gospel is powerful and we share it freely at TBS.  As We face many issues at home and out of our home it is imperative to show the love of Christ and Truth as much as possible.

I am grateful for answered prayer in knowing that Angie Bush is resting at home already.  Thanks to those who have volunteered to help them in this time of need ( Amber Shaeffer, Tiffany Spoor, Kathy Rabe, Dan Leeds).  Meals have been prepared for them to help Angie and the family!

TBS Accreditation Interest?

Parents – Are any of you interested in helping with the TBS Accreditation process?  There is much work to be done over the summer months and starting this spring I will be hosting several meetings to assemble a team willing to blaze a trail that has never been touched in TBS History.  I am recruiting willing helpers for the journey.  I do not know what all the tasks will be as of yet however there are several positions that will need to be set up as we enter the planning and development phases.

Two Serving Opportunities:
    *Adopt A New Family
I am also looking for parents who would be willing to “adopt” an interested/prospective TBS family.  I have several on my list and would like to assign a family who would be willing to make contact and interact with them as way to build relationships.  If you would be willing to help with this I would be grateful for that help as well.

*Video Record – TBS Family Testimony
If you are willing and or able and want to share your testimony of what TBS has done for you and your family I would like to record you and your story.  Perhaps you would just like to write a testimony – this is also good.  I would like to do some promotion to the churches and social media concerning the impact our school has had on student and families.  I will highlight some of our alumni as well as former parents but I would like to include and highlight current parents as well.

It is not hard to see real proof that TBS makes a difference in our community.  Lets partner together and share our story with others around FDL!

It seems like all I do is ask for things and never return the favors.  Thank you for all you do for me and our school!  I am working hard on behalf of your children….I hope you all know this of me and my staff!

TBS Nation,

Good Wiiiiinnnnnndddddyyyy morning to you all!  I hope that everybody can make it into school without being tossed around by that gusty wind we are so lucky to have.  Makes garbage pickup interesting for sure.  I know that I personally had a few storm windows ripped off the house last night so I assume that there is more damage around the town as well.

WACS is quickly approaching and I know that there are several things that need to be accomplished before the performances.  TBS will be leaving at 7:00am from the TBS parking lot to be ready for the day!  Students should be arriving at 6:45am for a departure at 7am.  Dress code must be recognized as this is a performance event.

TBS Nation,

Good morning and welcome to Monday.  We are exactly one week away from jumping ahead an hour due to daylight savings time!  I am trying to get the kids up an hour early this week so that next week is not such a bear.  Mornings are brutal sometimes and it is rough when schedules adjust by an hour!  It will be nice to gain that daylight during the evening hours although it was nice seeing some daybreak at school in the morning!

This is the last week of the 3rd quarter.  It has flown by and I know that we still have a long way to go however it seems like the school year passes faster each year. April 7th marks the first day of our spring break so we are just a few short weeks away from that already!

Just as a reminder the TBS Jr. and Sr. High will be traveling to Watertown this weekend to participate in WACS.  There will be about thirty schools represented state wide and I do believe that our students will compete well with this competition.  Mrs. Amy Braker, Mrs. Jan Martin and I will be taking the students on Friday to the competition.  Prayers are coveted for safe travel!

Today, we are praying for Angie Bush and the Bush family.  Angie will be having surgery this morning and I would ask that you pray for a quick and healthy recovery.  I would also ask that our TBS Family help by signing up for the following dates to help with a meal for their family as she recovers.

Bush Family and Friends @ Souped Up

Please email me if you are able to help in this way for their family.  I am convinced that the strength of our school is measured in many ways by how we respond and react to each other when there is a need!  Let’s help and pray!

*Reminders for Prayer:

Angie Bush – Surgery Today
Lydia Spoor – Recovery (RSV and other complications)

TBS Nation,

Good morning and welcome to SOUPED UP!  Dan Leeds and others have been cooking and preparing for days and most of you will enjoy the benefit of the amazing efforts!  I have to say that this event is gaining ground and is becoming more popular as the years pass on.  Looking forward for the day!

Parents remember that there is no school tomorrow.  This has not been well advertised and I apologize for that as it was not on my radar. I guess I should read the patriot post and actually reference my own calendar once in a while.  Regardless we have a three day weekend and hopefully it will be a good one to rest a bit!  Also, WACS is next Friday for the Jr. and Sr. High.   Many things still need to be accomplished for the day to go well.  I look forward to the competition that will happen.

TBS Nation,

Good morning and welcome to the first day of March.  I can’t believe that we are now done with the two coldest months and on to the pendulum swing of spring!  This is refreshing to think about this morning.  Even with the snow this morning it just feels warmer now that it is March!

Souped Up is tomorrow!  If you still have orders out there for any reason please bring them to the office this morning.  We are trying to be organized about the noon delivery and if we don’t have your order we will not know where to go or who to serve on Thursday noon.  Also if you are planning on attending and still have not purchased tickets we would ask to purchase in advance today!
